Vadodara got 53.81 points in the overall tally. In the last ranking, VMC had finished on the eleventh ranking. The union ministry for urban development announces ranking of Smart Cities periodically. Vadodara was amongst the 100 cities that were picked up from accross the country for implementation of the Smart City Project.
